“A Victorian Storybook Christmas”

 

The Carroll County Farm Museum, located in Westminster, Maryland is hosting it's annual Holiday Tour event.  This year's theme is, "A Victorian Storybook Christmas".

Six rooms in the farm house are each decorated in a different storybook.  The parlor is Beatrix Potter, the study is Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer, the master bedroom is Treasure Island, the children's room is Goldilocks and the Three Bears, the dining room is Alice in Wonderland, and the kitchen is The Night Before Christmas.

There will be Victorian holiday decorations, tours, holiday music, wagon rides, and of course don't forget to stop and visit with Santa in his log house!

The event dates are December 4, 5, 6, 11, 12 and 13, 2009.  Hours are Fridays from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays, Noon until 5 p.m.

Westminster Museum Portrays 19th Century Rural Culture

 

The Carroll County Farm Museum 
 
Ranked among the most popular attractions in the Baltimore Area in 2008, The Carroll County Farm Museum offers you the opportunity to experience 19th Century rural life and culture.

Located on 140 acres in Westminster, Maryland, this historic museum showcases a main house built in 1852, barns, a smokehouse, springhouse, blacksmith shop, craftsmen’s workshops, broom shop, wagon shed, one-room school house, general store, farm animals and other exhibit areas.
